How happy is the blameless Vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd;
When memories are erased, regardless of whether they are good or bad, does that make everyone happier? Does that mean we can have eternal sunshine? If bad memories, regrets were to go away, would that make it the eternal sunshie of the spotless mind?
I wish for bad memories to disappear. not for me, but for others, on which I have done something wrong to. This constitutes bad memories for the other party, and i think i would like it if memories are to be erased, so we can all be as happy as the blameless Vestal's lot. We forget the world, and the world forgets us. Then the people hurt would be truly happy forever.
But is it really that way? if you forget about it, would you really be happier? We learn from experience. if we were to forget it ever happened, we would never learn. but when we have learnt from it, we know not to do it again, because it hurts others. and that is what i have learnt. sure, i would love to have eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, but i've found it in another way, and it is not by forgetting.
In other words, regrets and everything else may happen. i can't make it go away, but i learn to live with it and be happy. i learn to realise that maybe it doesn't mean that when regrets are erased, everything returns to square one. i learnt that love is more powerful than anything else, and if love overpowers this need to forget and be forgotten, and yet still be happy at the same time, we have a lot to be grateful for.
It's better to know what we have and to live with and, learn how to be happy, rather than running away from it. To be 'happy as the blameless Vestal's lot', we're just empty souls, without feeling or pain.
i try to atone for all the hurt i may have caused to anyone. i'd rather it happened and i know never to do it again to hurt someone, rather than to pretend it didn't exist. i try to show in a lot of ways that love is even more powerful than one moment of mistake. because my love can go deeper than anything, for the perosn i am willing to do so.
And i know, i know that i have found my Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind.
