lately
Lately I've been listening to this Mandarin song. I'm not very good at Chinese, as everyone knows. I can't converse in Mandarin for nuts. But for some reason I understand this song, and it speaks volumes to me. It's kinda sad, though, this song. If I could, I would translate the lyrics for you. I will try, though.
The song that I've been listening to a lot is Jay Chou's "An Jing" or, when translated, means "Quiet".
你要我说多难堪我根本不想分开
为什么还要我用微笑来带过
为什么我连分开都迁就着你
Roughly translated, these 3 lines say something like "How bad do you want me to feel; I don't want to leave at all. Why do you still want me to smile like nothing is wrong? Why is it that even when it comes to leaving and breaking up, I give in to you?"
My Mandarin isn't very good, so pardon me for whatever mistakes I've made in the translation.
Bottom line is, I've been listening to this song a lot. It's sad, very so. And it speaks volumes.
