define this
You wonder what the defination of happiness is about.
Define happiness.
Happiness, they say, is when one is contented. Only when you are content, are you truly happy.
Not many people are truly happy, then. How can one be happy, when it is such a known fact that humans are never easily satisfied? They want what they cannot get, and when they've gotten it, they just demand more. It's almost as if they don't know what it's like to wait, to wait anxiously for something. It's almost like they've never had to wait in all their lives, so they don't know how hard it is just to wait for something that might or might not come along. It then leads to a lack of gratitude for what has come along. It's almost as if it's a given thing that whatever they want, they will always have.
Then there are those who cannot be contented. Not because they aren't satisfied, but because being contented naturally leads to a state of unproductivity. Or rather, simply a lesser amount of productivity. Maybe it leads to being stagnant. So these people don't want to be content. But really, does it lead to any harm, being less productive? Would it hurt, being contented for once?
What about the others? The others, who are easy to satisfy and do not mind being less productive?
In other words, those who are happy. Truly.
There are those who are easily happy. Those who have been through tough times, who really know how it feels like to wait on something that is so ambiguous, it might or might not come along. Those who know what it's like to wait, to wait anxiously, maybe painfully, to wait with bated breath, to wait without knowledge of an ending. Those who wait, who just wait, wait for whatever or whoever it is to complete their happiness, to make them whole. Those who know how hard it is to be content, and because of this, are all the more easily contented. Those who do not mind a little less productivity, in exchange for a lot more happiness, joy, smiles, and love. Those who might have had a not-too-easy life, but not a terribly hard one either. Those who were caught in the middle, and are no longer caught in the middle.
In other words, these are the ones who are truly happy.
Then again, this is just my long-thought-about opinion.
